Super parents don’t need to be Superparents

Sep 15, 2006

Superheroes are for comic strips and that’s exactly where they should remain. Trying to be a Superparent generally brings on more stress and pressure to your already hectic life. Learn to let go and recognize that it’s not only okay to say no, it’s critical for your mental health. Remember, life isn’t a race to the finish line, it’s a leisurely stroll filled with happiness and pleasure for those who take the time to enjoy the journey. Sounds easy but hard to do?

Take small steps to shed the Superparent persona. Eliminate activities that are not absolutely necessary-figure out what really needs to be done, determine how much you can do and either leave the rest for another time or for someone else to do-your mental well-being depends on it.
