Child & Family Services Supervising Clinician (Sparta, NJ)

Position Title:  Supervising Clinician Responsible To: Child & Family Services Program Director Qualifications:  Masters Degree in Social Work.   Licensed Clinical Social Worker preferred; Certification in supervision required. Experience with child/adolescent treatment, family, trauma based treatment. At least 5 years of experience providing direct clinical service, and at least 3 years of supervisory experience. High degree of resourcefulness, independent judgment, initiative, ability to deal with factors not easily evaluated, interpret results, draw conclusion, and take recommended action. Knowledge of child protective services, mental health and substance abuse issues; treatment methodologies, diagnosis, use of medications in treatment; and evaluation of service. **BILINGUAL SPANISH SPEAKING PREFERRED**  Responsibilities:
  • Oversees the referral and case assignment process for clinical staff, assigns work consistent with NewBridge policy and contract requirements.
  • Provides direct supervision to clinicians for case reviews, conflict resolution, utilization review, crisis intervention, treatment plan development and review, assessment skills, competencies, case load management, specific case consultations related to risk and progress toward goal achievement, and review of performance.
  • Provides direct care to assigned clients with the use of individual, group, family, play therapy, and crisis intervention; is available for some evening and weekend hours.
  • Meets regularly with the CFS Program Director to ensure consistent application of NewBridge policies and procedures, problem solving, review and supervision of assigned cases.
  • Coordinates responses to consumer crisis calls, is available as back up to any clinician for crisis intervention and access calls.
  • Provides orientation, in-service training, and performance evaluations to assigned staff.
  • Conducts staff team meetings for utilization review, case assignments, program concerns, staff up-dates.
  • Develops controls to accomplish work within framework of contract, policies, procedures and priorities; meets or exceeds contracted level of therapeutic and psychiatric service.
  • Ensures all documentation is managed according to contract and NewBridge policy.
  • Works with the CFS Program Director to evaluate outcomes, review utilization of service, review documentation activities and identify trends. Acts as back-up for Program Director.
  • Provides quarterly written reports pertaining to client progress toward goals and risk reduction.
  • Attends and participates in DCP&P family team meetings as needed.
  • Attends, as needed, the monthly DCP&P staff conferences.
  • Practices effective communication with families, treatment team members, and the community.
  • Represents NewBridge in a professional manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.
