Mental Health Counselor (Haskell, NJ)
Position Title: Mental Health Counselor (Haskell, NJ)
Responsible To: Supervising Clinician
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field. Good written and oral communication skills. Driving record must be accepted by NewBridge Services’ auto insurance underwriter. Red Cross or American Heart Association CPR and Basic First Aid Training is mandatory.
Responsibilities:
- Provides and coordinates program services
- Advocates, develops, reviews, and implements electronic individual recovery plans for clients on caseload
- Assumes leadership role in assigned group interventions and plans appropriate curricula for topical groups based on current research, reputable sources, and evidence-based practices
- Serves as member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team for the purpose of assessing client strengths and needs and reports client progress, problems, and unusual incidents to supervisor immediately
- Provides supportive counseling and case management services
- Assists with crisis intervention
- Maintains electronic documentation as related to direct services in timely, professional, ethical manner and maintains schedule of billable services with corrections cited by supervisor or staff designee within 48 hours or according to individual Performance Improvement Plan.
- Attends supervision, clinical meetings, in-services and other staff meetings and participates in agency committee work as assigned
- Transports clients following NewBridge Safety policies
- Works with the Partial Care Director in evaluating, modifying, and further developing the program to meet the needs of clients.
