Embrace the holidays, let go of the stress
Sunday, November 23, 2014
The holiday season is upon us, and with its added pressures of shopping and baking and decorating and RSVPing, it may make you wish for January 2. What is meant to be a beautiful time of gratitude, peace, and reflection can get swallowed up in the frenzy of trying to pack in too much. This year, reclaim the season of light:
- Focus your energy on your family, your community and your spirituality.
- Write a holiday to-do list and then pare it as much as possible.
- Attend only the holiday parties that have the most meaning to you.
- Give meaningful but modest gifts. Don’t be lured by ‘deals’ that you can’t afford.
- Indulge your senses in the glowing lights, the aroma of fresh-baked cookies, the icy splendor of a December morning.
