Freedom Fence, a 3rd Generation Family Business, Supports NewBridge

Tuesday, September 20, 2011

PEQUANNOCK – September 20, 2011 – Born and bred in Pompton Plains and now raising their families here, the four Anello brothers are the third generation of Anellos who have run a successful fence company in the township.

Their strong connection to Pompton Plains inspires the owners of Freedom Fence to support local causes. When they learned that NewBridge Services Inc. needed a fence for its Enrich Garden, a horticultural therapy program, the Anellos provided a 6-foot high one to shield the plants from the parking lot. The donation saved NewBridge $1,200.

“We’re always looking to give back to something we think is a good cause,” Vince Anello said.

Enrich teaches those with chronic mental illness how to be responsible, detail-oriented and nurturing – skills that help them grow personally and are the seeds of a successful work life. Enrich participants grow more than 500 tropical flowers, shrubs and trees.

“NewBridge’s Enrich garden helps people get back on track and realize they can have a good life,” Anello said. Last year, Freedom Fence helped sponsor NewBridge’s annual golf outing, which supports many of NewBridge’s programs.

The Anello brothers – Salvatore, Vince, Christopher and Anthony – started Freedom Fence in 2003. They learned the business from their father, Vince Anello Sr., and their grandfather, Salvatore Anello, working at the original family-owned company, Anello Bros. Inc., established in 1963. A fourth generation is in the works: Vince has two children and Christopher has three.

“I believe the success of local nonprofits lies in the commitment of the communities they serve and am grateful to the Anellos for recognizing the value of our Enrich program,” NewBridge Chief Executive Officer Robert L. Parker.

While based in Pompton Plains, Freedom Fence serves all northern New Jersey. The company was chosen to install the fencing around the new soccer and football fields at Pequannock High School, their alma mater.
