$2 Million Campaign kicks off at 50th Anniversary Gala

Monday, June 03, 2013

MORRIS TWP., NJ, March 27, 2013 With more than 250 supporters gathered to mark NewBridge Services’ 50th anniversary, the northern New Jersey nonprofit on Friday announced its first-ever capital campaign to secure its future.

“While we celebrate our service to our communities over the past 50 years, we are positioning NewBridge to meet the coming demands so we can continue to be there when people need us,’’ said Chief Executive Officer Robert L. Parker as he announced the $2 million Helping NewBridge Move Forward Comprehensive Capital Campaign.

With the success of its golden anniversary gala at The Madison Hotel, NewBridge has already raised $1.1 million from its generous supporters. The campaign will fund crucial upgrades and secure NewBridge’s finances long into the future.

“Our founders’ commitment to meet the needs of their community propelled NewBridge’s growth and transformation, and their vision and adaptability remain our hallmarks,’’ Parker said.

NewBridge on Friday honored Jeffrey Gillman, its longest-serving volunteer; The First Reformed Church of Pompton Plains, which played a key role in NewBridge’s founding; and PSE&G, whose employees worked around the clock after Superstorm Sandy to restore power in towns ravaged by flooding and toppled trees.
“NewBridge recognizes these honorees for their contributions to building stronger communities through volunteerism, financial support and a deep commitment to solving problems,’’ Parker said.
