NewBridge Services Retiring CEO Robert L. Parker will be the guest of honor at the 2020 Legacy of Hope Gala on May 7.
Throughout his 42-year career at NewBridge, Parker has championed counseling, housing and education, especially for our communities’ most vulnerable residents. Under his leadership, NewBridge transformed from a local mental health agency into a multi-service community nonprofit that helps nearly 8,000 children, adults and seniors each year in Morris, Passaic and Sussex counties, and beyond.
Parker joined NewBridge as director of its newly created youth services bureau in 1978. He took the helm in 1992. Over the years, he has been honored for his advocacy of affordable housing, mental health advances and improved funding for social services.
Parker earned a master’s degree in public administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a bachelor’s degree in community leadership and development from Springfield College in Massachusetts. He has held leadership roles at numerous nonprofit and advocacy groups, and was one of the first people in New Jersey to be certified as a Mental Health First Aid trainer.
Join us May 7 as NewBridge honors Parker. The 2020 Legacy of Hope Gala features a cocktail hour, open bar, dinner, dancing to a DJ, a silent auction and much more.
